Yuliya Lennon is a Russian-trained artist using tradition techniques of the Old Masters.
Yuliya is an academically trained artist, having received tuition in both Russia and the UK. Fascinated by people, most of her work includes the human figure: from portrait commissions to multiple-figure paintings inspired by travelling.
Oil is Yuliya’s preferred medium with drawings and watercolours to accompany most of her work as preliminary studies.
Yuliya supports the traditional craft of painting and is a member of the Worlington Movement, a group that aims to bring traditional techniques and Renaissance values back into painting.
Yuliya is currently working on collecting data on methods and materials of traditional oil painting at the National Gallery by replicating the original masterpieces in search of a perfect formula that allows oil paintings last for centuries.
