Sally Minns

Sally is a Painter-Stainers Scholar and has a Diploma and Post-Diploma in Fugurative Painting from The Heatherley School of Fine Art.

She is an experimental artist whose practice is an examination of Body and Space. Through phenomenal and corporeal investigations, she uses her body as a site of knowledge production, searching to tell the truth, facing the internal wrestle between the socialised and the feral, as it relates to objects and experiences.

Interested in connecting to an ancient wisdom of being, through a collective consciousness between body and nature, her work often occupies the transitional space of becoming, between the real and the imagined.

Sally's process driven practice takes reference from lived experiences combined with research into literature, myth, ecology and feminist philosophy, while focused on the values of freedom and choice. Sally's work speaks of ghosts and prejudices that are deeply ingrained and serve to limit and repress individually and collectively and raises questions for debate and change.

Her diverse experimentation expands across drawing, painting, installation and textiles.
