Painters’ Hall will be open to the public from 10am to 3pm on Saturday 21 September as part of the Open House Festival. We will be offering members of the public free access to the site to look around the Hall and meet members of the Company. The focus of the wider event is on architecture and the communities ‘behind’ the buildings, so this is a wonderful opportunity to discover the Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers. We look forward to welcoming visitors to the building, explaining its purpose and history, and to share information about our community, industry, and charitable work.

What is Open House Festival?

Open House Festival is a two-week celebration of London’s housing, architecture, and neighbourhoods. You can get inside some of London’s best-known buildings, as well as some of its best kept secrets. It runs from Wednesday 6 to Sunday 17 September 2023.

Open House Festival celebrates our curiosity for what happens inside the buildings that we walk past every day; a festival that works to give all Londoners the chance to learn from the city’s best architecture and the people behind it.

What happens at Open House Festival?

As a visitor to the Open House Festival, you can get access to a huge number of remarkable buildings, landscapes and neighbourhoods all over London. From Saturday 14 to Sunday 22 September, buildings and other sites across all 33 London boroughs will open to the public, so that Londoners can explore.

Liveries and the Open House Festival

Several Livery Halls are opening their doors during the Open House Festival, a lovely opportunity to see other Halls and find out more about the Liveries, ancient and modern.
